January 14, 2009

ZookelAt the turn of the year a new job site launched in the UK, called Zookel. The site has a number of interesting features beyond the “standard” functions you find on existing job boards.

Interview: Paul Duggan, Founder, Zookel

Dated:
14 Jan 2009

Duration:
8:25 mins

A few days ago we caught up with Zookel founder Paul Duggan, to discuss the site’s innovations and approach.

The interview is available to the right, or you can listen while you continue to browse by using the born Audio Player.

One of the areas Paul discusses is Zookel’s online psychological profiling, which is used by both job seekers and recruiters to match candidates to jobs.

This is an interesting development; going beyond the traditional keyword matching that is commonplace in online recruitment sites. The psychological test takes less than five minutes to complete and provides a career focused profile, as shown below:

Zookel Profile

Zookel also includes tools to allow job seekers and recruiters to utilise their social networks, including Facebook and LinkedIn. In addition, a job seeker profile in Zookel includes a number of different elements, including video CVs, which have often been a topic of debate among recruiters. Despite the problems facing video CVs, in Paul’s mind they provided some clear benefits, not only for job seekers but also recruiters.

Catch the full interview with Paul Duggan, it makes good listening.
