A new online recruitment site has launched to the UK market this week that describes itself as a, I quote ?futuristic service for Jobseekers and Recruiters?, unquote.

JobPlant offers job seekers the chance to stand out from the crowd using a video profile service, from which job seekers can attract recruiters to their CV.

JobPlant certainly isn?t the first service we?ve seen launched that aims to leverage the growing use of online video for recruitment purposes, so we took the new site for a spin.

The offering is simple and straight forward to navigate, although we were a little surprised to find two of the five primary navigation tabs, Forum and Blog, failed to work. The example video CV looks professionally done and certainly shows how a well produced video CV can present a candidate in a positive light, and the video uploading service was pain free; users of youtube will find no problems using this service.

However, the debate over whether video CVs have a future in online recruitment remains open and with competitors such as VisualCV and Talent On View already in the marketplace, JobPlant?s offering might be seen by some as slightly underwhelming.
