Kevin McMahon of the British Standards Institute has started an interesting conversation on the Recruitment Futurology group at LinkedIn. It’s a simple question, should there be an official British Standard for Best Practice in Online Recruitment?
It’s the kind of question that’s hard to tackle and even more difficult to answer. On the positive side, most people would agree that standards of quality can be a good thing. On the negative side, British Standards can also introduce costly business frameworks and even a false sense of security.
So far there have been a few responses from those in the industry, but if the BSI are seriously considering this topic we would encourage everyone to visit the Futurology group and voice their opinion.
We understand the BSI will be holding a meeting with four job board owners and two online recruitment experts to discuss this topic. So make your opinion known now, so they know where to start the conversation.
